Leaping Distances

Base Strength

  • Running Broad Jump 10' + 1 foot per point a DC15 Acrobatics check is made by.
  • Standing Broad Jump 5' + 1 foot per 2 points a DC15 Acrobatics check is made by.
  • High Jump 2' + 1 foot per 4 points a DC15 Acrobatics check is made by.

Enhanced Strength

  • Running Broad Jump 16' + 1 foot per point a DC15 Acrobatics check is made by.
  • Standing Broad Jump 8' + 1 foot per 2 points a DC15 Acrobatics check is made by.
  • High Jump 4' + 1 foot per 4 points a DC15 Acrobatics check is made by.

Note that when he uses the Hare's Leap ability (Leaping 3) in his movement array all distances are multiplied ten fold. Also note that Extra effort can double the distance covered by a leap, or any other form of movement for one round.

Examples: Coy is using his Ancestor's Might ability in his attack array, setting his Strength to 22. He makes a running broad jump to leap from one rooftop to another and rolls a total of 25 (He rolled a 10) on his Acrobatics check. His base leap is 16' when using enhanced strength, and his roll exceeded 15 by 10, so he adds 10' for a total of 26'. Using the Hare's Leap ability from his movement array that is multiplied by ten, for a net jumping distance of up to 260', or nearly the length of a football field!

If he needed to make a vertical leap from street level to a damaged 2nd story fire escape some 20' above ground level that same roll would allow him to jump vertically 4' base, plus an additional 2' for his roll, times ten for Hare's leap for a net leaping distance of up to 60', easily getting him to the target area desired.

If Coy were trying the same leap to the fire escape but had been nullfied he'd only be able to use his raw athleticism and ability to make the jump. In order to be successful he'd have to roll a twenty on his check, and use extra effrot to get close enough to make a grab for it. His raw high jump is 2', with +5' for rolling a 20 on the check is 7' total, which doubles to 14' with extra effort — it is probably safe to say he's not very likely to make that leap.
