You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry …or excited, or scared, or agitated, or annoyed…Etienne doesn't have the best of control over his mutation yet. Well..he has pretty good control over the part that lets him bend like a pretzel, but the part where objects he's around tend to blow up is a little less reigned-in, which is unfortunate given that this is the far more dangerous aspect of his powers. When in a heightened state of emotion, whether fear or anger or any other emotional extreme, Etienne is far more likely to start charging objects to blow by accident, and of course once he's started the process he has no idea how to stop it. This can make life very interesting to people around him.

Rebel Without A Cause Unlike some of the students of the Institute, Etienne is not here because he wants to save the world. He's not even here because he particularly wants to be. He's already expressed his destructive, rebellious streak in the past, and if sufficiently bored by the curriculum, it isn't a long stretch of the imagination at all to think he might start taking his boredom out in less than constructive ways. He is completely the sort of guy to skip class and, when he isn't skipping, light his cigarette off of the gas burner in the science lab without thinking twice.

Get Out Of My HEAD Etienne does not like telepaths. This is aided by the fact that he has a low-level mental shield which helps him deflect psychic intrusion. Unfortunately it is aggravated by the fact that the shield is in fact low-level, and there are in fact psychics who can bypass it, some without much trouble. Etienne finds this an incredibly violating experience, and if he comes to be aware of a telepath - or a 'spook', as he likes to call them - in his head, he's likely to have an epic, explosive tantrum.

Knight In Shining…well… So Etienne makes about the worst knight in shining armor ever, in the history of ever. And yet at the same time, he's sucker for a damsel in distress. Alas, this doesn't apply to all women - he's not terribly likely to go diving to the rescue of Aunt May or the leper down the street - but if the lady is cute and in trouble, the Canadian just can't help himself. He has to go help. Even if he knows he isn't going to get anything out of it. Even if he knows it'll actively hinder his goals. It's like a compulsion. Save the Princess.
